At the Faculty of Science in the Institute for Nuclear and Particle Physics we have an opening for a

Research Assistant (E13 TV-L)

for Experimental Particle Physics

on a fixed-term position until 30.6.2013, according to the rules of the Law on Scien-tific Fixed-Term Contracts (WissZeitVG).

Duties: playing a leading rôle in the analysis efforts of the local ATLAS group in close contact to the ATLAS collaboration at CERN. (Our activities within the BMBF Research Center ATLAS and the Helmholtz-Alliance "Physics at the Terascale" comprise data analysis and tool development for the search for Higgs Bosons beyond the Standard Model as well as commissioning of the ATLAS Liquid Argon Calorimeter.) Participation in the planned research and development of fast readout electronics for the forward calorimeters at the upgraded sLHC and the International Linear Collider ILC will also be possible. The post comprises the usual teaching duties and offers the opportunity for a "habilitation".

Qualification: Ph.D. in Experimental High Energy Physics or equivalent experience, strong commitment to teaching, great potential for outstanding achievements as an independent researcher and for coordination of a research group.
