University of Heidelberg, Institute of Physics

Research Associate Position in Experimental Particle Physics

The LHCb group of the Institute of Physics at the University of Heidelberg has two openings for research associates in experimental particle physics (E13, TV-L). The appointment starts as soon as the successful applicants are available. It has an initial term of two years, with the possibility of extension.

Our group has made major contributions to the construction and the commissioning of the forward tracking system of LHCb. We are playing a leading role in the detector alignment and the track reconstruction. In parallel the Heidelberg LHCb group has a wide range of analysis interests. Our analysis group is currently focusing on analysis possible with data of the first months of data taking and on preparing CP violation measurements in the Bs system. Further interests of our group are rare B decays. Successful applicants are expected to contribute significantly to the LHCb data analysis. New analysis initiatives will be encouraged. Flexibility for part or full time stay at CERN is desired.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in Experimental Particle Physics or in a related field with relevant experience. Enquiries and applications including CV, list of publications and names of three referees should be send to
