ADVANCED APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

ADVANCED APPLICATIONS ENGINEER (I-7, TERM) -
Requires a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent and at least 5 years
experience in computing and software. Experience with object oriented
programming, C++, Python, ROOT, data management systems, and familiarity
with experimental particle or nuclear physics applications on a variety
of operating systems and platforms is required. Experience working
collaboratively on large projects preferred, and ability to work in this
environment essential, as is interest and aptitude in user support, is
also desirable. Will work with members of the ATLAS experiment at the
Large Hadron Collider, in coordination with the US ATLAS Research
Program and CERN software teams to develop software for ATLAS event data
model, ROOT persistency, physics analysis tools and user analysis
support. As the ATLAS experiment begins to acquire data, the job
responsibilities may shift to other areas, such as event visualization,
grid environment support and other related software tasks. Omega
