Postdoctoral Research Associate with CMS at LHC
The experimental particle physics group at Purdue University
invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate to work on
the CMS experiment at LHC at CERN.
The Purdue group has played a major role in the construction of the
CMS forward pixel detector, hadron calorimeter, endcap-muon detector,
and the development of high level trigger software. We operate a Tier-2
center at Purdue which provides resources for data analysis both locally
and as part of the Grid. We are actively preparing for data taking and
subsequent discoveries at the LHC. We expect this position to be based
at CERN but other arrangements are possible. The successful candidate
will play a leading role in the analysis of the first physics data and
will contribute to an area where Purdue has responsibilities to CMS.
Candidates will have a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics.
Previous post doctoral experience is an asset but not required.
Applicants are requested to submit a statement of interest, a discussion
of relevant experience, a CV, and a list of publications; and to arrange
for at least three letters for recommendation to be sent to Profs.
