Research Associate
Position in the
SLAC BABAR Group
Overview
Experimental Research Associate positions
are currently available with the BABAR research group within the
Particle Physics and Astrophysics Division of the Stanford Linear
Accelerator Center. These openings allow unprecedented scope for probing
many different aspects of B physics with the large data samples now
provided by the BaBar detector at the PEP II Asymmetric B Factory.
Working at SLAC also affords the Research Associate opportunities for
career development with a wide variety of detector types, computing
techniques, and future experimental projects. For further information,
please contact Dr. Blair Ratcliff at
blair@SLAC.Stanford.EDU.
Qualifications
These are highly competitive positions,
requiring a background of demonstrated excellence in research and a
recent PhD in experimental particle physics. The term of these positions
is two years in the first instance and may be renewed by another year.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit the
following:
•
A letter of application
indicating the primary physics program of interest
(BaBar)
•
C.V.
•
Selected bibliography that
highlights personal contributions
•
Brief statement of research
interest
Candidates should also ask at least three
senior physicists who know their work to email us their letters of
recommendation.
Please EMAIL your materials in electronic
format (pdf) and at the same time ask your referees to EMAIL their
letters to:
