Post-doctoral Position in Experimental High Energy
Physics
University of Texas at Arlington
The High Energy Physics group at the University of Texas at Arlington
(UTA) is looking for candidates for post-doctoral associate positions to
work on the ATLAS Experiment at CERN. The UTA HEP group has a major role
in the ATLAS experiment, including construction and commissioning of the
hadronic Tile Calorimeter, design and deployment of the U.S. ATLAS Grid
production and distributed analysis system, and development of much of
the ATLAS physics tools software. UTA physicists have leading roles in
the preparation for first data taking and various physics analyses, such
as SUSY and Higgs searches. In addition, UTA hosts the largest GRID Tier
2 computing center in the United States.
We are seeking two highly motivated physicists, at least one of whom
will be based at CERN. The successful candidates are expected to make
major contributions in calorimeter commissioning and maintenance,
trigger issues, and/or development of physics analysis tools. In
addition they will be expected to spend a significant fraction of their
time on data analysis and interacting with UTA faculty and other HEP
group members (including a large UTA group resident at CERN).
Applications should include a curriculum vitae, publication list, and
statement of research interests. Candidates should have at least three
letters of references sent directly to Andrew Brandt
(brandta@uta.edu) and Amir Farbin (afarbin@cern.ch). These positions
are available immediately. We will begin reviewing applications
September 14, 2007, and continue until the positions are filled, so
please email us all materials as soon as possible and contact us with
any questions.
UTA is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
