                 Postdoctoral Research Scientist Position in Elementary Particle Physics

                                               The University of Texas at Dallas

 

The University of Texas at Dallas High Energy Physics Group seeks highly qualified applicants for

a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to participate in the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Applicants

should have experience in both the detector operations and data analysis for high energy

physics. Applicants should have completed their PhD by the date of appointment.

 

The UT Dallas Group contributes to the ATLAS Pixel and Inner Detector commissioning,

calibrations, and operations, and the UT Dallas Group is preparing for physics with LHC data.

The Group established the first Tier3 GRID farm of any kind in ATLAS, and it operates an ATLAS

Tier3gs production computing site. The successful candidate will be based at CERN where s/he

is expected to contribute to Pixel and Inner Detector activities and to play a leading role in the

analysis of physics data.
