Responsibilities

The Alignment Engineering Group of the Metrology Department is looking for a geomatics engineer to implement survey applications into the next generation of a Graphic Information System covering on-going laboratory projects. The candidate will start by becoming knowledgeable in the existing AEG-GIS created within the MiroStation system. They will complete the existing localized base map and the related topology clean-up. They will also investigate the next generation of MicroStation GIS. In parallel, the candidate will prepare for the migration of field survey and alignment data. During peak workloads, the candidate will support field surveys.

Required Skills

BS in Geomatics or related field with GIS specialization. A minimum of a couple years experience in geo-processing including map clean-up, topology analysis, database maintenance and spatial queries. Proficiency with CAD and at least one GIS software package, preferably MicroStation. Familiarity with survey instrumentation including total stations, laser trackers, digital levels, laser scanners and GPS/RTK technology.
