The seventh annual SLAC Summer Institute on Particle Physics met on July 9-20, 1979, to investigate the theory of quantum chromodynamics. Following the traditional pattern the Institute started with seven mornings of pedagogic lectures covering both the elements and the experimental tests of the theory. The seventh annual SLAC Summer Institute on Particle Physics met on July 9-20, 1979, to investigate the theory of quantum chromodynamics. Following the traditional pattern the Institute started with seven mornings of pedagogic lectures covering both the elements and the experimental tests of the theory. In the afternoon participants gave seminars and engaged in lively discussions of the morning's lectures. The Institute closed with a three-day topical conference which included the first results from PETRA as well as the latest reports from CERN, Fermilab, and SPEAR experiments. Two hundred eighty-seven physicists from fifteen countries participated in the Institute. Show Partial Abstract
