Author Guide (KIPAC)

If it is a KIPAC document, it is also a SLAC document. Get a number now!

KIPAC Documents

If a document fulfills the following criteria, then it is a KIPAC document:

AND

  • The author claims an affiliation with KIPAC, either in the address, acknowledgements, footnotes, or elsewhere on the paper; this affiliation can be stated in the form of:
    • On behalf of KIPAC
    • For KIPAC
    • Representing KIPAC

For non-SLAC employee members or affiliates of KIPAC that do not claim an affiliation to KIPAC on the paper, then the document is not a KIPAC document.

SLAC Documents

If an author or co-author of a scientific or technical document is a SLAC employee, then the document is already a SLAC document and should have a SLAC document number assigned to it. Get a number now!

If it is a KIPAC document, it is also a SLAC document. This is because SLAC supports 50% of the funding for KIPAC and will be the home of the KIPAC building. As such, KIPAC management agrees that KIPAC documents will be processed as any other SLAC document. Get a number now!

As a rare exception, for non-SLAC employee members or affiliates of KIPAC that do claim an affiliation to KIPAC, but strongly believe that the document does not represent work done at SLAC or done using SLAC resources, a SLAC document number may not be required. Exceptions should be routed through Roger Blandford, Steve Kahn, or Greg Madejski.
