Alex's presentation was titled "A Hard X-Ray Study of a anganese-Terpyridine Dimer Catalyst in a Chromium-Based Metal Organic Framework". As I have learned from her talk, she has been working to find an effective water oxidation catalyst which can be used in breaking water molecules in order to generate hydrogen molecules. These hydrogen molecules can then be used to produce an alternative clean energy source. I found her presentation to be very interesting and informative as clean energy is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Besides, I was impressed by the way she organized her material. She walked us through her work during the summer step by step in an orderly manner. Her notes and visual aids were neat, legible and self-explanatory. Her voice was well projected. She also had the proper posture, movement and gestures. Throughout the presentation, she maintained good eye contact with her audience and made sure that she was being followed. Her confidence demonstrated how well prepared she was. All in all, she was in full control of the situation and had her audience deeply engaged in her talk the whole time. Show Partial Abstract
